You can wake up

and pretend everything is fine

But the morning sees it instantly

It feels your body

still tired from yesterday

your mind

that hasn’t fully returned yet

The coffee is warm

but you’re not there yet

And that’s the honesty of a morning

It asks nothing

but reveals everything

What you carry

what you avoid

what you don’t dare to say

And still…

you sit there

you breathe

you begin again

but because there is no other choice
