Decor:
01:29 ’s nachts.
Donkere woonkamer.
Een gsm-scherm licht op als een fakkel in de woestijn.
Karel ligt zachtjes te slapen… tot hij ineens rolt als een gestoorde pingpongbal.

Charel (fluisterend tegen zichzelf):
“Hoho… wat zie ik hier? I love you? I LOVE YOU?
Wacht. WACHT. Ik ga even sterven.”

Hij springt recht, struikelt over zijn pantoffels, en grist zijn bril.
Zijn ogen sperren open alsof hij zojuist een UFO op zijn oprit zag landen.

Charel:
“Wie schrijft dat naar mijn vrouw?! Wie is die poëzie-patroon?!”
Hij scrollt nogmaals, trilt als een oude wasmachine.

Innerlijke monoloog:
“Ze antwoordt te snel! Te vriendelijk! Te mooi!
O my God , ZE IS EEN SCHRIJFSTER, GEEN CUPIDO-PRAKTIKANT!”

Plots:
Zijn buik begint te borrelen.
De jaloezie schiet letterlijk door zijn darmen.

Charel:
“Neeeee… niet nu… niet bij jaloezie… AAAAAH.”

Hij rent naar het toilet, smijt de deur dicht en gromt alsof hij de nationale leeuw van België heropvoert.

Einde Acte I.
(Het publiek sterft lachend.)

Scene:
1:29 AM.
A quiet room.
A phone lights up like a divine warning.
Karel sleeps peacefully… until he suddenly rotates like a possessed washing machine.

Charel (whispering to himself):
“Hold on… WHAT is this? ‘I love you’?
‘I. LOVE. YOU.’
Oh no.
I’m going to pass away.”

He jumps up, grabs his glasses, zooms in like an FBI agent with a caffeine problem.

Charel:
“Who writes THAT to my woman?! Who is this Shakespeare-wannabe?!”

He scrolls again. His soul leaves his body for three seconds.

Inner voice:
“She replies too fast. Too warm. Too poetic.
Oh Lord… she’s a writer…
THAT’S EVEN WORSE!”

Suddenly:
His stomach begins to rumble like thunder.

Charel:
“No. No no no… jealousy don’t do this to me… NOT NOW—”

He sprints to the bathroom and explodes like a dragon with digestive problems.

End of Act I.
